Why Have U.S. Troops Invaded the Big Bend Area in Texas?
Texans are seeing a lot of military movement in the state.
Texas Invaded
The word "invasion" seems to be thrown around a lot these days, mostly when it comes to the U.S./Mexico border. While it may be a bit porus, Calling it an "invasion" is a bit of a stretch. Then again, I haven't seen anything from either political party that provides some real and realistic solutions to the problem.
Get The Facts
Part of the reason that no one has come up with the correct answers is they start with bad or no facts on the topic. If you're ready to have your mind blown, here's some myths about immigration. I would say chief among the misinformation is that they are "pouring in".

Troops In Texas
In a show of, uh something...the U.S. Military is being deployed around the Big Bend Area to assist with immigration. There are in fact 200 troops there now with a projected 700 total being stationed there in the future. I fully support our military, but this just reeks of an expensive camping trip. I am also 100% sure if this were to happen at any other time, Texans would be concerned that the military was here to disarm us and/or enforce martial law.
A Temporary Fix
Here's why this seems like political maneuvering. Why not just give immigration officials the funds and bodies they need to do their job? Why station the military there? I suppose it might be good training for the military, but they'll probably pull out and go back home at some point, leaving the area open and immigration officials understaffed again.
Is It A Waste Of Time?
It's probably not for the best to have our military spread out running errands. A strong military's backbone is it's rediness. It seems to me that playing with bears and looking for starving immigrants affects that, and is probably not what these men and women signed up for.
