Let’s get the obvious part out of the way first: Twin Peaks has built its brand on cold drinks, a lodge-style atmosphere, and what they cheekily call “scenic views.” Everyone knows that. It’s part of the package, and they don’t pretend otherwise.

But here’s the thing that doesn’t get talked about enough: the food is genuinely good. Like, “I would still order this if no one was wearing flannel shorts,” good.

Twin Peaks isn’t trying to be a dive bar or a novelty spot. The entire place leans into a rustic, lodge-style environment that feels more like a hunting cabin than a sports bar, which might explain why it’s such a popular gathering place for hunters and outdoorsy types. Just the other day, I saw a massive table full of them. Boots, camo, ball caps, the whole deal, and not one of them looked like they were there for the outfits alone.

They were there to eat.

The Chicken Fried Steak Is the Real Headliner

If you’re the type of person who judges a restaurant by its chicken-fried steak (and in Texas, that’s valid), Twin Peaks delivers. It’s crispy, hearty, and exactly the kind of comfort food you want when you’re starving and not interested in a “light option.” It’s the kind of meal that makes you sit back afterward and think, yeah, that was the right call. Bonus: you get two steaks. Yes. TWO.

Yes, Lobster Rolls...In Lubbock

Lobster rolls in Lubbock, Texas, sound like a setup for disappointment, but somehow, they work. And not in a “this is fine for where we are” way. They’re legitimately good. They’ve become one of those menu items that surprises people enough to turn into a repeat order, which is saying something considering how far we are from the coast.

Don’t Sleep on the Meatball Sub

The meatball sub is another sleeper hit. It’s filling, messy in the best way, and feels more like something you’d expect from a solid sandwich shop than a sports bar. If you want something that feels indulgent without being overcomplicated, it’s an easy win.

Service That Actually Matches the Hype

Here’s where Twin Peaks really locks it in: the service. It’s consistently attentive, friendly, and efficient without being overbearing. You don’t feel rushed, ignored, or like you’re fighting for refills. They take care of you.

At the end of the day, Twin Peaks may draw people in with the atmosphere and branding, but it’s the quality of the food and service that keeps tables full. Strip away the novelty, and you’re left with a restaurant that holds its own on the menu alone, and that’s not something every place with a gimmick can say.

If you haven’t gone for the food yet, you might be missing the best part.
