I realize all of this is necessary, but c'mon already!
Lubbock Is Booming
Don't let anyone tell you that Lubbock isn't "booming" right now. The businesses that are going out of business are done because of too many others in that product category or the fact that so many people just prefer home delivery by Amazon. We have TONS of TxDot workers pouring money into the local economy and it's appreciated, well, mostly. It's been very hard to get around in the Hub City lately.
This Area Is Awful
I've already went on and on about the nightmare that is navigating the Lubbock Business Park. I guess it's not so bad if you know to "go 'round back" via Martin Luther King. The problems over there started when they closed what is called "The Yucca Bridge" for repairs. They then added to the problem by diverting traffic past the front of the Lubbock Business Park (home of the Texas DMV, so yeah, you will need over there at some point).
...And It's Getting Worse
TxDot has now announced that it will be closing the Southbound exit (#7) to Yucca Lane. Unless they didn't announce something else was opening up, navigating this area is going to be like working a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. I suppose if we were told that all of this was going to be worked on, we might have said, "Okay, just get it done all at once" we might be cool with it, but since it was a little unexpected the response is, "Do we really have to get this done all at once?".
Wasn't Good To Start
I should mention that all of this is happening at or near the junction of I-27 and Loop 289 near a place that already confuses people. Just be warned that you may have to take some backways or even double back to get to where you want over in that area.
