Unsolicited Seed Packages from China Raise Concerns in Texas
Officials in Texas are warning the public to use caution with unsolicited packages of seeds, which seem to have found their way back into mailboxes across Texas. The seeds are supposedly from Chinese vendors and are a "trend here" according to Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller.
The Texas Department of Agriculture is doing its best to collect these mystery seeds and send them to the Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to identify them. Sid Miller said one Texan placed an order with TEMU for a dog toy and got a package of strange seeds instead.
Do you remember when this happened 5 years ago? Here's a video to refresh your memory...
So far, only 5 packages have been reported in Texas.
All I know is that if I happen to receive a package of mystery seeds, it's going to be REALLY hard for me to keep myself from planting them and crossing my fingers for a massive beanstalk to shoot up out of the ground, so I may climb it and vacate this planet once and for all.
I can put up with stealing bites of this and that from a giant before he uses me to butter his bread if it means getting the hell out of here before things get even worse...
Have you received any mystery seeds? Do you think this whole thing is just a strange hoax or something? I'm a little skeptical. Tell me what your thoughts on in a comment or send me an email to Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com...
