Want to Invest Your Stimulus on the Most Expensive Home for Sale in Lubbock?
So, you've got a stimmy that's just burning a hole in your pocket and you need a new crib? Maybe you've seen more than a few episodes of House Hunters and marveled at the idea that a professional goat shearer and a stay-at-home cat therapist could have a budget of $2.2 million to drop on a new home.
Well, we've got good news for Sven and Moonbeam. Their dream home is still for sale right here in the Hub City.
According to Realtor.com, this lovely little chateau can be yours for the bargain basement price of $2,200,000. Renee' Raven first told us the story of this little love nest, but for some reason, it has not yet found the right buyer to make their dreams come true.
Located at 4509 14th Street, just a stone's throw from the Texas Tech University campus, this home boasts 5 bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths (!) and covers just over 16,000 square feet on a little more than a half acre. Personally, I think there aren't enough bathrooms, because you never know when the urge may strike.
The Most Expensive Home In Lubbock (April 2021)
There were a couple of notable features that caused our spider senses to tingle just a bit when we first heard the story. For example, it appears that in the basement of the home that there's a basketball hoop set up, along with a workout room and sauna.
So, I'm just going to throw some wild (and totally unfounded) speculation out there. Due to its (very) close proximity to the Texas Tech campus, and the fact that there has been some turnover of highly paid athletic personnel recently...do you think this could have been Chris Beard's house?
Either way, enjoy the house. I'm going to submit a lowball offer on it this week. Like $125,000 lowball. Wish me luck.
The one thing that stands in the way of that theory, is that this home has been listed on Realtor.com for just over five months. If it did belong to the former coach, did he list it knowing full well that he was leaving for greener pastures long before the drama surrounding his departure for Austin?
Hmmm, the plot thickens...
