Watch Ghost’s First Show as a Band
Ghost have come a long way since their early days, but everyone starts somewhere. The band played their first official show in 2010 at the Hammer of Doom festival in Würzburg, Germany. This came not even a week after the released of their debut album, Opus Eponymous, which was released on the independent label Rise Above Records.
It was confirmed via court documents that this was the band's first gig under the Ghost moniker. The papers came from an ongoing lawsuit between frontman Tobias Forge and former members of the band.
Below you can watch videos of the band performing songs such as "Ritual," "Prime Mover," "Death Knell" and "Elizabeth." While young, the band's signature sound was evident even at this stage. It was obvious they were poised for a bright future.
Ghost's Prequelle debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, which was five spots higher than their previous record, Meliora. The album moved 66,000 units (including streaming), of which 61,000 were physical sales.
