We’re Pretty Sure That This Lubbock Grandma Is More Jacked Than Your Grandma
All our lives, when we needed advice, or just a hug and some cookies, we always called on Grandma. However, one Lubbock Grandma is more likely to give you a protein shake, and make you do squats if you ask for some Oreos.
If you ever needed motivation to get in shape, no matter your age, then we'd like to introduce to you to Linda Childers-Perry. She is a 60-year-old grandmother who could snap you in half like a twig if you act up, youngun. Last month, she won a competition in Dallas and is now headed to the NPC Pro Masters competition in Pittsburgh, PA.
In comments made to EverythingLubbock.com, Linda says that she first was introduced to the world of bodybuilding after leaving an abusive relationship.
Speaking with KLBK, Linda had advice for anyone thinking that they are trapped in an unhealthy environment as she was.
“I mean you might think that you’re by yourself, but you’re not. You’re not by yourself. There is a way out. You’ve got Women’s Protective Services to make sure that you’re safe. You can get out of that. Look at me–I got out of that.”
To help her get to compete in Pennsylvania at the NPC Masters Nationals competition, Jeremy Garcia, who owns Iron J's gym and has known Perry for a while, has set up a GoFundMe page, seeking to raise $2500 to cover her costs. If you wish to donate, you can click here.
It goes to prove that no matter what stage in life you are in, if you have the passion and desire to make healthy choices, and set firm goals, they can be achieved...even if you've got grandbabies.
