Wicked Weather Alert For The Weekend, And The Fine Citizens Of Lubbock Freak Out

What is it about the words "winter weather alert" that freaks people in this town out so much?

Today, I had a craving for tacos, chips and homemade salsa so I decided to stop by the store and pick up a few things.

Bad idea!

The parking lot was packed, and once in the store the first thing I saw were crazy long lines and empty shelves.

Now, I understand not wanting to get out if there is snow or ice, but come on!

Clearing shelves of water, bread, meat, toilet paper...

This is Texas people, we rarely get the horrible weather predicted and if we do get some snow or ice it's gone in a few days and the temperatures are back into the 60's and 70's.

Maybe I'm just bitter because I didn't get those tacos....
