While I was heading into work this morning, the roads from Slaton to Lubbock were slick but still if you taking your time, you could get to where you needed to be safely.

Again we can't stress enough to take plenty of time for travel if you have to get out this morning. So once again let's look at some of my driving tips for winter weather.

1. SLOW DOWN

2. GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO GET WHERE YOU ARE GOING

3. IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO GET OUT IN THE WEATHER, THEN DON’T

4. IF YOU COME UP ON A TXDOT VEHICLE, DON’T PANIC! GIVE THEM PLENTY OF ROOM TO DO WHAT THEY DO BEST AND THEY WILL GET YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE GOING SAFELY

It really is that simple when it comes to driving in the Winter Weather. It really is that simple to just take your time and slow down. As you see over and over again vehicles sliding into the ditch and spinning out on the highway, just because they were driving to fast.

I would like to personally thank TXDOT for keeping the Texas Highways safe for all of us that travel the roads of Texas.
