According to their Instagram account, the original Dallas Bone Daddy's location has permanently closed after 24 years in business.

This leaves only two locations in Texas- Lubbock and Arlington. However, as of the writing of this article (12/6/24) the Arlington location is temporarily closed for repairs.

Bone Daddy's had at least half a dozen locations at its height, so this marks a steep decrease in the eatery's locations.

In case you've never been, Bone Daddy's is Texas barbeque joint meets a massive sports bar.

Or, as they would describe themselves, "Bone Daddy's is a full-tilt Texas Barbeque Joint specializing in slow "Pit Smoked" meats, scratch sides, ice cold beer and handcrafted cocktails."

Bone Daddy's began as what some would dub a "breastaurant," that is, a restaurant that employs attractive women in skimpy clothes as servers.

Now they still hire attractive women, but the outfits are a little less revealing (still shorts and crop tops though).

Are breastaurants becoming a thing of the past?

I happen to be a woman, but defending breastaurants is my weird hill (or hills?) to die on.

I even wrote an entire article defending them: Meals With A View: In Defense of "Breastaurants" In Texas.

In essence, I believe they are successful because they are incredibly service-driven. When people go out to eat, they want a heaping helping of hospitality with their fries. And that's what these ladies provide- tons of attention and smiles to their guests.

Texas Monthly speculated on the decline of this genre of eatery back in 2018 when the very last Bikini's closed. But remember 2018 was a rough year for any restaurant, as was 2021 and every year post-pandemic.

I don't believe the breastaurant as a concept will die off completely anytime soon. But any restaurant that provides impeccable service has a leg (sexy or not) up on the competition.
