Your kid could become a wizard, sorcerer, or a bard. Of course, you're kid may already be a little barbarian.
Where Do They Train?
Believe it or not, becoming a wizard starts at the Lubbock Public Library and in this case, the Godeke branch. Fortunately, they don't need a robe, a magic wand/staff, or any special herbs to get the magic going. All they need is thier imagination.
Here's The Event
At 5:30 today kids between the ages of 12-17 can learn the basics of Dungeons & Dragons. Part of what they will do is to create character sheets. The event is expected to last until 7:00 p.m. and is free.
I'll Testify
Dungeons & Dragons is far from what it was portrayed in the ignorant 80's. D&D is an adventure that takes place mostly in the mind and can serve as one heck of a creative outlet for teens. Not only is it fun, it's a great, safe way for your teen to meet new people and have fun.
Step Up Kids
I know it can be a bit awkward to insert yourself in a situation like this. Trust me, if you take the time to join in you'll find other people like you. At worst, you'll learn the basics so that you can join some other D&D friends elsewhere. D&D is a community and you'll find these games just as challenging as video games with more possibilities for actual human interaction.
