I've sat through very few concert films in my life. For me, concerts are generally about the energy of the experience. With Mad Season, the art and emotion is so intense, it carried the film in such a way that I couldn't turn it off. Finally a clean copy of the film is available and I have the best know song for you after the jump.
I think it's pretty cool that Bush decided to record a live d.v.d. in Texas. The guys laid it down in August of last year at Stubb's in Austin. I've got more details after the jump.
Pearl Jam meant a lot more to me than Nirvana. I like Nirvana's stuff, but I just wasn't angry enough at the time to bond with Kurt. Pearl Jam provided a better bridge between the traditional rock at the time and grunge. Pearl Jam "10" brought us some of the most memorable rock songs ever. More after the jump.
Stone Temple Pilots have sent out a message that they have official fired Scott Weiland from the band. Holy moley, are we really going to go through this again. STP was pretty much my favorite band from the grunge era and they taking an already troubled history and putting it in the dumper. More after the jump.
When it came to grunge, Pearl Jam was one of my top two (STP being the other). I can't really explain it, but there was something just a little more soulful about Pearl Jam. Soundgarden brought it hard, Nirvana was for the disenchanted (and I wasn't that disenchanted) and Alice In Chain was a bit more "trippy". Now, 22 years after it's release Pearl Jam's epic first release "Ten&
Wow, this is a lot to take in and a true festival and celebration of rock. When the real festivals took off it was all about people being exposed to all different types of music. This festival covers everything from Metal to Grunge to Classic and more. This is a chance to enjoy a lot for very, very little.
Mad Season was a 90's "supergroup" featuring Layne Staley of Alice In Chains, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Barret Martin of Screaming Trees and bass player John Baker Saunders. Also involved with the project to a lesser degree was Screaming Trees vocalist Mark Lanegan. More after the jump.
It looks like it will be a rainy Wednesday. Sometimes there's nothing better than a rainy day and little heartfelt jam. Since we don't want to play this song over and over, I wanted to put it up on the website for you. The song is 'Caught In The Rain' by "Hurt" and it's just friggin' amazing.
I haven't brought you a "Flannel Channel" in a while and it's high time we bring it back! Can you think of a better song for the so called those Lyin' Mayans!!! As predicted by every sane person on the planet, we're still here and so is this 90's flannel classic. More after the jump.
Man this sounded good on paper-Bush's Gavin Rossdale joined by wife Gwen Stefani on stage. I can't remember this combo anytime in recent history. There's a good reason too-IT'S FREAKING HORRIBLE. More after the jump.
We've been talking about the new Soundgarden for a while, mostly because it was supposed to drop last week, before it was pushed up to Thursday of this week. The arrival of a new Avenged Sevenfold caught us a bit by surprise. More after this jump.
