Although Pride month has already passed in 2022, that doesn’t mean we have to stop celebrating. Lubbock is having its 10th annual Pride Festival later this month, and you don’t want to miss out.

On August 27, 2022, LubbockPRIDE is hosting their festival at Rodgers Park. The festivities begin at noon and will go into the evening with a drag show starting at 7:00 pm. Vendor registration is open until tomorrow, August 12th, so be sure to act fast if you’d like to set up a booth this year.

There should be a great variety of vendors selling all sorts of pride goodies, along with food trucks, performances, and more. Bring the whole family, have some fun, and show some love for your community.

Events like this are so important for the LGBT+ community, and I’m happy to see that Lubbock’s been celebrating for the past 10 years. Coming together with like-minded people who you know will accept you is incredibly valuable. Pride events are places where the queer community can be open about who they are and not have to hide a part of themselves that they might be afraid of others seeing, especially in a more conservative city like Lubbock.

I will definitely be attending with my partner, and I would love to see a big crowd attending, having fun, and showing their pride.

For more information about the event, I suggest keeping an eye on the official LubbockPRIDE Facebook page, or on their official website.
