The previously canceled Lubbock Arts Festival is now back on the calendar but now it will be a 'virtual' online festival. Happening this weekend, April 18th & 19th, the Lubbock Arts Alliance innovated a way in which the community could still participate and enjoy the annual Lubbock arts festival.

A memo sent from the Executive Director of Lubbock Arts Alliance read, "New content will be posted every half hour throughout both days of the event and include a 40 minute compilation of the work from the artists who would have traveled from all over nation to join us, a highlight reel of our 2020 Featured Artist, Ashton Thornhill, entries for the 2020 Juried Gallery, unveiling of our “official” Lubbock Arts Festival t-shirt, some of our favorite memories from the Children’s Art Area and Demonstrating Artists Area and performances and “shout outs” from groups who would have participated in the event at the Civic Center."

It is really impressive to see that the Lubbock Arts Alliance wasn't going to let a worldwide pandemic stop the organization from featuring the artists and guests that were scheduled to be in Lubbock for the event.

There are many ways to participate in the 2020 Virtual Lubbock Arts Festival:

The event will run from 10AM until 6PM on Saturday, and Noon to 5PM on Sunday.

Let's support our local arts community by making sure they have plenty of online attendees. See you there!
