5 Things I Want From Tech Athletics in 2020
With the end of the year quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good time to talk about what I want to see happen in Tech athletics in 2020.

Another Trip To Omaha For Tech Baseball
There is a lot of hype surrounding this Texas Tech baseball squad this season. After making a trip to Omaha last season and winning more games than you ever have there, you'd like to see it happen again in 2020. The #3 ranked Tech baseball squad definitely has the tools to make another Omaha trip. Maybe this time, it'll end with a national championship.

Beard Finds More Tournament Success
The 2019-2020 Texas Tech basketball season has already seen its shares of ups & downs. From starting the season ranked, to losing 3 straight, to beating the then #1 team in the nation. I firmly believe this team will find it's identity sooner rather than later. Another trip to the NCAA tournament should be on the horizon for Tech basketball and it should result in another deep run. Maybe not another National Championship birth, but a result that should satisfy every fan.

Track And Field Team Repeats
If the Tech basketball team wasn't the most impressive group from this year, it was the Track and Field team. They were utterly dominant this year. It also helps when you have one of the best collegiate 200m runners in history, Divine Oduduru. While Oduduru is planning on going pro, that doesn't mean the Track and Field team will lack without him. Wes Kitley is the best coach in the nation and will have his group ready to defend and repeat their NCAA Outdoor National Championship, and Big 12 Indoor & Outdoor Conference Championships.

Lady Raiders Playing In March
The Lady Raiders are currently undefeated. Just let that just sink in for a moment. Coach Stollings has it going with the Lady Raiders this season. This is how the Lady Raiders needed to start non-conference play if they want to play in March, whether in the NCAA tournament or in the NIT. The Big 12 is a juggernaut with Baylor seeming like another lock to win it all. However, if Stollings can get the Lady Raiders to some sort of postseason appearance, that would be a really good year in my book. If you haven't been paying attention to the Lady Raiders this season, you might want to start. Great things are happening with Coach Stollings at the helm.

Winning Record For Tech Football
This is one that nearly every Texas Tech supporter wants to see. The football team is returning quite a few players from this past season, however, with Jett Duffey entering the transfer portal and some uncertainty on where Alan Bowman stands with the team, 2020 could be another tough season for the Red Raiders. There are some reasons though that might suggest it could be a bounce-back year for the Scarlet & Black. Matt Wells has been hitting the recruiting trails hard this season, with his 19 commits on signing day last week, and with a full season under his belt at Texas Tech, Wells has the opportunity to provide a winning season for the Red Raiders and put them back in a bowl game.
