Places We Miss: The 50 Yard Line Restaurant
How crazy is it that at one time, one of the most upscale places in Lubbock had a football theme?
If I were to open a restaurant in 2026 called "The 50 Yard Line," you'd probably expect a sports bar with 20+ TVs, a full rack of beer on tap, and refrigerators full of imported bottles. You'd expect the menu to be loaded with pizza, burgers, nachos, and wings.

The legacy of The 50 Yard Line Restaurant stretched all the way from 1964 to 2019. That's a 55-year run, and that's something almost unheard of in the restaurant business.
It was more than just a place to eat. It was where Lubbock celebrated.
That's why The 50 Yard Line will always be one of those...
