Are You Ready For Some Football, Lubbock? Friday Night Lights Are Back
It's BACK!!!
This is one of my favorite times of the year in West Texas, because on Friday Nights, communities get together and celebrate pride in their school and town by filling stadiums that are just shy of NFL sized.
High School Football has returned, and all is right in the world.
Of course, the radio is going to be filled with the sounds of exciting action from all corners of the state, as hopes and dreams are either realized, or dashed. At the end of the day, it's still an experience that nowhere else in America can truly appreciate as much as we do here on the Dust Coast. If you can't travel to an out of town game, you can hear many of your favorite schools in action on several of our Townsquare Media-Lubbock stations.
You can either click the link below for a complete list of games you can hear.
This year, the Monterey Plainsmen will be heard on Lubbock's #1 for New Country, Lonestar 99.5FM, the Lubbock High Westerners make their home on 95.1FM and 790AM KFYO, and the Estacado Matadors will do battle on Talk 103.9FM and 1340 KKAM.
Of course, if you want to stay close to the action but are traveling outside our listening area, or perhaps you have family outside of the area who would love to listen and cheer on their hometown teams (or maybe Grandma wants to hear her previous little angel throw a 98-yard touchdown pass), all High School games are available via the internet, over each stations app, which you can download below.
Plus, you can enable each station's Alexa skill to listen on your smart speaker, so there is no shortage of ways you can follow the biggest pastime in West Texas.
