Heads up, guys -- you may want to bring a change of undies.

Comedy Night at BarPM started its first weekly Thursday open mic night, and the initial launch was a total success. It was fun. It was packed. It was hilarious.

Lubbock's newest open mic night, hosted by local comedian Corey Evans, got off on the right foot with the first performance. Not only were there dozens of seasoned comedians present, but the audience participation was also outstanding. It made for a fantastic evening.

Evans handed out free shots to random audience members throughout the performance and was an inviting, engaging host. It was clear that everyone in the room was having a good time, and I think this new comedy night is going to be a very big success.

It’s not always easy to find a bar that's willing to allow a bunch of people to cuss on the microphone and tell raunchy stories to their customers. BarPM has had comedy nights out there before, but this one was much different to me. The last time I performed there was a few years ago, and there were only a handful of other comedians in the audience that had already heard all of my jokes. No actual audience.

So if you're looking for something fun and different, check out Comedy Night at BarPM every Thursday. The drink specials are great and new comedians are always welcome to come and get on the stage. Sign-ups are at 7:30 p.m., and the show ends just before 10 p.m.

Forget Netflix on Thursday nights and head out for some live local comedy. You don’t want to miss it.
