We haven't seen Matt Wells behind a podium in months. Heck, We've barely had proof of life from Matt Wells during the pandemic besides some tweets, a home tour, and a lunch lady cameo at Frenship. That will come to an end Monday, August 3rd, with Matt Wells getting some shine at the rescheduled Big 12 Media days.

The Big 12 Virtual media day will be live next Monday on ESPN+ from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Obviously, the layout has changed with these uncertain times and extraordinary circumstances so it won't look like a normal media day, but you will hear from Matt Wells and the rest of the Big 12 coaches in both a media availability and a one on one chat with an ESPN reporter.

Players will be involved via interviews by Big 12 Digital Correspondent Morgan Uber. Content will also be posted on the Big 12’s official social media platforms throughout the event.

As with any media day Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby will kick-off the event at 9 a.m., the head coaches’ interview sessions will follow featuring West Virginia, Baylor, Iowa State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma in the morning session. The afternoon session will start with Greg Burks, Big 12 liaison to officials, at 12:30 p.m. CT and will be followed by the Oklahoma State, Kansas, TCU, Kansas State and Texas head coaches and their individual interviews.
