You want to see the difference between a dust storm and a haboob?

A haboob is pushed in on the leading edge of a cold front and we have a picture that illustrates that as clear as a bell. The picture was taken at about 11:20 from the parking lot of the Brownfield hospital. The wall of dust came to town like a creature from a horror movie.

West Texans have been reluctant to adopt the name "haboob" presumably because it's either complicated, scientific or Arabic sounding, but the actual picture of a haboob on the Wikipedia page comes from Lake Ransom Canyon. Yeah, haboobs are a thing and Brownfield got one on Tuesday.
