Where We Started
We put the call out on Facebook with the question, "What Petty Thing Did You Do To Get Back At Somebody". The answers, at times, were absolutely over the edge. It takes a certain degree of pettiness to exact revenge in the first place. We were hoping for simple stories like "the ol' shrimp in the air conditioner vent", but some of this went way, way beyond this. There are things here that people could be arrested for!
My Confession
Myself, I'll admit to an act of pettiness. We had a fraternity that was stealing wood from our haunted house. We'd even documented it on film at some of their parties. Living in a college town no one really seemed to want to teach these boys a lesson. One day, we caught them red-handed and called the police. The police arrived in time to stop the boys who then were allowed to call a fellow who rolled up in a Mercedes Benz. He offered me cash to replace my supplies which I had no choice but to accept. I was still bothered so when he went to tell the boys that everything had been taken care of, I took a drill bit out of my pocket and carved lines in his trunk deep enough to create a trench in the bare metal. I DO NOT regret it, and I hope this gentlemen learned that neither he nor the frat boys can buy thier way out of all of the situations in life.
