Are Your Collections A Joyful Hobby Or A Hoarding Habit
Sometimes the things we love the most can quietly pile up until they start to look like a full-blown hoard—and that’s exactly what we asked our listeners about.
It takes a big person to admit they might have a problem—and a whole bunch of people just did. When we asked our Lubbock friends the question, “What do you have that makes you look like a hoarder?” the answers came pouring in. It turns out there’s a fine line between what people own and what they’re actually willing to admit they own. Those things might sound the same, but they’re not. What you confess to and what you keep secret are two very different piles.
I’ll admit to a few things myself—two of my own making, and one that landed in my lap. Years ago, I became obsessed with McFarlane Movie Maniacs action figures. Luckily, I stuck to just that one brand or I’d be buried alive in collectibles. I’ve also got an embarrassing amount of DVDs stacked up. And then there are the beer steins I inherited, despite not being much of a fan of beer or steins.

Coming in a close second were craft supplies, which are apparently filling closets, spare rooms, and garages all over town.
