Could Lubbock’s Buddy Holly Be Re-Born As A Robot?

The Sphere in Las Vegas is not just technologically insane on the outside, it aims to be the same on the inside, with humanoid robots that will greet guests. According to USA Today the robots will also help guests with information and some tasks. You will basically have a robot concierge. This may be the cool part of the future.

All of this technology and artificial intelligence is developing lighting fast and we're either going to learn how to use it to help us or be left behind. This had me asking the question, "How would we use this technology in Lubbock?"  The answer goes back to the Sphere's plan, and that would be, at least initially, for entertainment purposes.

Could you imagine a Buddy Holly robot at the Buddy Holly Center that walked you through exhibits, or even a stationary one to answer your questions? With A.I. technology they could certainly get the facts and the voice right. Robotics and animatronics are certainly not as complex as some people think they are and one thing we know is as technology develops it also becomes less expensive.

Having a "Buddy Holly Experience" could be just the shot in the arm needed to keep the spirit of our favorite rocker alive. I hate to say it, but with A.I. technology, it would even be possible for the robot to write new Buddy Holly Songs like this one I just generated on Chat GPT:

Now I doubt that Buddy Holly would refer to himself as his sound as the "Buddy Holly Beat", but you have to admit there are moments in those lyrics where you think, "Wow, that is a little like Buddy Holly".

I'm ready for robot Buddy Holly. It COULD happen, and it just might be epic.
