The idea that something could emerge from some abyss has fascinated and horrified us for hundreds of years.

Movies have been made about things like this. There was "The Deep", "The Abyss", "Leviathan", a little movie called "Jaws", and so many more (in fact, here's a list of 150 of them right here). I was also creeped out as a kid watching "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" with its submarine-attacking squid.

70% of the earth is covered by oceans. I find them beautiful, and only when I'm at the ocean do I really feel connected with the planet. I will also tell you that the ocean after dark is a very, very scary place. It's a huge, seemingly endless place full of who really knows what (I am POSITIVE that there is really scary stuff in places we just haven't found out about).

I also do believe like the Toadies said, "I Come From The Water". I think it's just a matter of time before even more things from the ocean evolve to the point where they can walk on land in new and terrifying ways.

All of this was a lead-up to this horrible pink baby octopus monster I saw on the internet:

Yes, I would say prepare for an INVASION of these monsters. They have eight creepy tentacles and have been known to show their tongue when they feel threatened. Apparently, they also have the ability to take over couches. I've also heard that while these do not squirt ink, they will soil themselves on a regular basis and will force you to change them.

Good luck surviving this horror.

P.S. Here's where you can help your baby become an octopus.
