Patrick Monteverde and Mason Montgomery got Big 12 Awards this weekend, but it was Cal Conley who stole the show. More on that in a minute.

The week, nine Big 12 awards were owned by TCU's Hunter Wolfe, who got Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week. Meanwhile, Texas Tech’s Mason Montgomery was named Pitcher of the Week. Red Raider Patrick Monteverde earned the Newcomer of the Week distinction.

Both Red Raiders earned wins this weekend in bookend games in a series victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers. Montgomery pitched on Sunday afternoon, collecting a career-high 12 strikeouts in 6.2 innings. Montgomery started hot, striking out the first five Mountaineers and took a perfect game into the fourth inning, where he gave up the Mountaineers' only run of the game. Texas Tech would win, 10-1.

Montgomery's 12 strikeouts were the most by a Red Raider in Big 12 play since Bobby Duran did it back in 2010.

Monteverde, a Pittsburgh native, had the terrible towels working in the crowd with his family in attendance. He threw seven shutout innings, allowing only two hits on Friday night to set the tone for the series. Monteverde struck out seven batters on 95 pitches and moved to 6-1 on the season. That record is tied for the best in the Big 12.

Not to be outdone by the pitching, shortstop Cal Conley had a pretty good weekend, capped off by an incredible Sunday afternoon where he went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and two home runs that he hit in back-to-back innings.

What's so special about home runs in back-to-back plate appearances? I guess that's not too amazing, especially when Jace Jung has two games with three home runs, and two Red Raiders have also hit two home runs in one inning this season.

Cal Conley gets the added bonus of hitting his home runs from both sides of the plate. The fifth-inning bomb came as a right-handed batter. Then, after a pitching change, Conley mashed one out as a left-handed hitter.

All in a day's work for the talented shortstop. Here's video proof of the amazing feat:
