On October 22nd through the 25th, the trails in the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum will be lined with hundreds of jack-o-lanterns for Parks and Recreation's 12th Annual Pumpkin Trail.

This year, the goal is to showcase 2,000 pumpkins. The more jack-o-lanterns donated, the longer the trail will be. The pumpkin carvings must be family-friendly.

Groups that bring 10 or more pumpkins will have a sign posted on the trail with their name on it.

It's asked that you carve your pumpkins no earlier than Monday, October 19th so that they stay fresh throughout the four-day-long event.

Those wishing to donate pumpkins are asked to call the Hodges Community Center at 767-3706 and let them know how many pumpkins you plan on donating. There are also sign ups available for groups to help each night as candle lighters, trail guides and counters.

You will be delivering your carved pumpkins to the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum, located at 4111 University, on Wednesday, October 21st from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The delivery site is the east corner of the parking lot.

They will also be accepting donations the day after at 3 p.m.

For 2019, there were 1,832 pumpkins with over 25,000 guests visiting the trail. You can watch the pumpkin count grow at www.playlubbock.com or on the Lubbock Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
