Dumpsters Float Down Flooded Lubbock Street, Ignoring Stop Signs [Video]
Not even dumpsters were safe from flooding in Lubbock.
Lubbock resident Jeff Hannon posted a clip of two dumpsters floating down 27th and Slide Wednesday afternoon (August 31). Jeff and his son Jason look on in awe in the video above. "The dumpsters are floating down the street, look at that," says Jeff.
Both dumpsters come close to hitting cars parked on the street, which are fairly submerged.
The recent flooding in the Hub City has caused several issues for residents. One woman had her car catch on fire while trying to drive on a flooded street. And Texas Tech's Jones AT&T Stadium saw its lower levels completely submerged.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom. Some residents took to the flooded streets with a wakeboard to have a little fun.
Lubbock authorities are urging people not to drive in areas that are flooded.
