If you're of a certain age which is any age approximate to mine, you probably spent at least a couple of sleepless nights with re-runs of The George Lopez Show on Nick at Nite.

The heavily-syndicated comedy played ad infinitum until you finally drifted off to the Pavlovian cowbell of Low Rider and the dizzy visual of the cast perpetually jumping on a slow-motion trampoline. If it's not seared into your unconscious, were you even alive in the early to mid-2000s?

Before George Lopez was the dad both of and in his eponymous sitcom, he was a stand-up comedian. Since the cancellation of The George Lopez Show, Lopez has stayed busy, including a stint as the mayor in Reno 911! that I particularly loved. He also had his own talk show on TBS and sitcoms, Saint George and Lopez. He's also acted and films and done voice work for animation. Truly, Lopez is a big star.

George Lopez is coming full circle on his career and touring stand-up yet again. From the Buddy Holly Hall's press release:

George Lopez will be making a stop on his OMG HiComedy Tour at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences on September 12, 2021, at 7 p.m. George Lopez’s multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy and late-night television.
Tickets go on sale for George Lopez OMG HiComedy Tour on Friday, June 18 at 10 a.m. (CT) and range in price from $45.50 to $65.50 plus taxes and fees. This show is rated for adult audiences, ages 18 and older. Tickets are available at buddyhollyhall.com, by calling ETIX at (800) 514-3849, and at The Buddy Holly Hall Box Office located at 1300 Mac Davis Lane, Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

I'm thrilled the the Buddy Holly Hall is hosting yet another high-caliber comedian and that Lubbock is becoming a regular stop for these tours. Other comedians scheduled to perform at the venue are Bill Maher, Brian Regan and Tom Segura, in addition to theatrical, musical, and dance performances.
