The City of Lubbock Public Health Department will be giving out Moderna vaccines tonight at the First Friday Art Trail in the COVID-19 vaccination bus near the food trucks at 5th Street and Avenue J.

This is an excellent opportunity to grab one of your pals that hasn't been vaccinated yet and head over to get it done. Afterward, you get to walk around and check out all of the amazing art that Lubbock is known for.

You'll also already be right by the food trucks. I don't know if you know or this not, but we have hella tasty food trucks 'round these parts, so you don't want to miss out.

Everything is first come, first-served and there will be health department staff present to answer any of your questions, like, "how long until Bill Gates knows all of my thoughts?" or "when will my new tail begin to develop?"

In all honestly, the Lubbock Public Health Department has done an incredible job at getting vaccines to the public. I had mine done at the Civic Center and it was fun to joke around with staff about microchips and other stupid conspiracy theories. They take it all in stride. Everyone I met was very friendly and had a great sense of humor, as well as the ability to articulate the importance of the shot. They are also there to alleviate any fear or anxiety you might have.

I didn't have any reactions to the vaccine; just a sore arm for a couple of days and that wasn't even bad. I grew up with brothers, so I'm not very sensitive to a little bruise. The COVID-19 vaccine was nothing compared to battling them on the trampoline with pots and pans from the kitchen.

So, go check out the art trail tonight and get your shot, son.
