Both Lubbock Hastings Hardback Cafes to Close Saturday, August 6
Fans of Hastings' Hardback Cafe, I have some bad news. All Hardback Cafes are set to permanently close after this Saturday, August 6.
Due to the company's ongoing liquidation process, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be your last chance to get your favorite drink (mine is the Blackberry Cream Dream).
All consumables are 10 percent off and many of their bulk cafe supplies are available for purchase while they last. There were 5-pound bags of coffee for $10, but we also saw bulk tea, syrups and smoothies mixes.
Lubbock has two Hastings locations: 3249 50th St. and 8209 Slide Rd. The company has several stores throughout Texas, including San Angelo, Abilene, Amarillo and Midland-Odessa.
Hastings filed for bankruptcy back in June of this year. After being purchased in July by two companies, all of its remaining inventory is currently being liquidated. Every Hastings store will be closed on or before October 31, 2016. Stores can close earlier, but must give their employees seven days notice.
