Live Music, Food, And Fun: Idalou Peach Fest Is Back
Who else is singing the “Peaches” song right now?
This Saturday it's a full day of fun in Idalou, Texas. It's the 3rd Annual Idalou Peach Fest. This is a heck of a lot more than just fuzzy, fun fruit; they have all kinds of activities packed into one big day.
Why not take a quick trip and check it out? The entire drive is only about 14-15 minutes from the center of Lubbock. Just head east on 19th Street and you’re pretty much good to go. Seriously, it’s that easy.
Music, Food, And Plenty Of Peaches In Idalou
The Idalou Peach Festival runs from 11-7 this Saturday. Things start out rowdy with Johnny Vegas and Lewd & Tattooed hitting the stage at noon. Later that afternoon, there’s even more live music with David Starr & Eric Stucky.
The live music is in addition to a ton of vendors, food trucks, fresh produce, and, of course, plenty of peaches!
There’s plenty of room to get your peachy groove on too. This event takes place on a 55-acre peach farm and apple orchard called Juicy Lucy's. I guess we should mention they also have plums and pears, so apparently peaches are just the headliner.
Save Room For Pie And Peachy Drinks
You can also prove your mettle in the Peach Pie Eating Contest. Several age groups will get a chance to slam down a pie for a modest entry fee. If you don't feel like packing dessert in, how about just kicking back with some homemade peach ice cream?
I've also heard rumors of several peach-oriented drinks like wine, hard ciders, and cold brews, but that's just between us adults.
