Texas Fishing Tournament 2025: How to Win a Boat or Truck

Every fishing trip I go on, I tell everyone I'm going to "catch the big one!" That hasn't happened for me yet, but it did for Nate Opela from Hallettsville, Texas.

Nate Opela has officially become the second Red Tag Winner in the 2025 CCA Texas STAR Tournament. His certified catch earned him a massive prize package: a 2025 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew Cab and a 23’ Haynie Amigo boat paired with a 150 hp Mercury motor and Coastline Trailer.

You're next catch could come with a brand new truck. CCA kicked off their Star Tournament and will run through September 1, 2025. If you catch a tagged fish, you could win BIG, but to even be eligible, you must be a current CCA Texas member and registered for the 2025 STAR Tournament.

Boat package for blue tag winners
Polaris package
Whataburger/Beer for a year
Scholarships worth up to $30,000
Multiple youth divisions for trout, flounder, and gafftop
And more, depending on your division and category

You can register anytime between now and September 1, 2025. If you’re already out fishing without being registered… you’re risking the prize of a lifetime.

There's plenty to win, and as of 7-11-2025, only 2 out of 10 winners have claimed the grand prize, so you've still got time to catch the big one!
