Lubbock Man Sentenced for Touching a Child in Her Sleep
31-year-old Joshua Lee Sanchez has finally received his sentence after pleading guilty to inappropriately touching a child under the age of 12 while she was sleeping, among other charges.
How It All Began
According to Everything Lubbock, officers visited a home on March 7, 2025, where sexual abuse may have occurred. This was after a little girl under the age of 12 made an outcry claiming that Sanchez had been touching her inappropriately in her sleep.

At this time, Sanchez was in a relationship with another member of the household.
Witness accounts report that Sanchez then attempted to flee the scene but was stopped due to his vehicle requiring a breathalyzer to start, and he was visibly intoxicated at the time.
After police detained Sanchez, he also allegedly gave a fake birthday when asked.
Sanchez's Charges and Guilty Plea
Sanchez was then sent to the Lubbock County Detention Center on two charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact. He also had a conviction of his second DUI charge around the same time.
Joshua Lee Sanchez pleaded guilty on Monday for the two child indecency charges and was sentenced to six years in state prison with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He will receive 333 days of jail credit for his time spent at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
