Years ago, the Lubbock Police Department announced a new tool for citizens who were interested in knowing where crime was taking place in Lubbock. Many found out pretty quickly that crime isn't just located in one part of town, there is crime all over Lubbock.

Then suddenly, the map disappeared. But after about a year of the map missing, there is some good news.

Lubbock's Crime Map Has Returned

On Wednesday, the Lubbock Police Department announced that the crime map has returned and can now be accessed by everyone. The crime map allows citizens to view criminal activity within the city limits. Reports can be filtered by crime type, location and/or date.

One thing to note, this isn't a live map. Just because an officer maybe responding to something right now doesn't mean it show up right then. It could take a while. Still, the map is a great resource to see what type of crime is happening in your area.
