Rain Out: Weekend Forecast Washing Away Lubbock Area Event Plans
If you had weekend plans outdoors, particularly on Saturday, those plans might be revised by event organizers.
Lubbock, along with much of the South Plains is forecasted to see rain and thunderstorms on Saturday with highs only in the upper 40's to low 50's. That doesn't make for the best Spring day and already we have seen a few events that were scheduled to take place outdoors, cancel.
The Silent Wings Museum has canceled the 8th Annual West Texas Salute to Veterans that was supposed to happen on Saturday. Word is the event will be rescheduled. The Scottish Rite Car Show has also been postponed from this Saturday, and the 55th Annual Ranch Day at the National Ranching Heritage Center has been cancelled.
For those hoping to take in the Texas Tech Spring Game in Midland, bad news, that game has been canceled as well.

There are still other events happening around the South Plains that you can take advantage of, including the Gun and Blade Show happening both Saturday and Sunday at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Or just enjoy a day at home listening and watching the rain fall. Let's be honest, out here in West Texas, we should never complain about a day filled with rain.
