Joyland Amusement Park Sets June 12th for Re-Opening Date
Fans of Joyland Amusement Park in Lubbock received some good news on Wednesday.
Governor Greg Abbott's latest series of executive orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic will allow Joyland to begin the process of re-opening.
Consequently, Wednesday afternoon, Joyland's management set Friday, June 12th, 2020 as their re-opening date.
Here's what Joyland posted on their Facebook page Wednesday afternoon:

We would like to express our deepest thanks to all of our Joyland supporters:

that have purchased EnJOYment Cards
that offered to help with fundraisersor donations
that expressed concern for Joyland's future

local and state officials that have helped contain the COVID-19 virus.
These have been extremely trying times and the support we have received from everyone is what has kept us alive.
We are ready to see your smiling faces and provide memories in the days ahead!
The Governor's Phase III of re-opening Texas included the following provision for amusement parks, which applied to Joyland:
"Effective June 3: Amusement parks and carnivals in counties with less than 1,000 confirmed positive cases may open at 50% capacity."
Joyland Amusement Park is located at 500 Canyon Lake Drive inside Lubbock's Mackenzie Park.
