On Monday, December 27th, the Lubbock Police Department arrested a man for a fatal shooting that happened the day before.

44-year-old Joshua Walker was arrested for the murder of 68-year-old Alberto Garza Sr.

On Sunday, December 26th, LPD received a shots fired call in the 500 block of 79th Street. Officers arrived and located 2 gunshots victims, 42-year-old Timothy Lovato and Garza. Lovato suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center. Garza was pronounced dead at the scene.

Walker told police that he had been drinking heavily earlier in the day, and apparently couldn't remember what he did later in the day.

Lubbock Police are still looking for a 2012 Chevrolet Express Box Truck that Walker is believed to have used the day of the shooting. It has a Texas license plate KXF-9004 and the passenger window may be broken.

Investigators believe the truck was abandoned on rural property east of Lubbock. Anyone with information on this box truck is asked to call Detective Thomas Bonds at 806-300-6621.
