Lubbock’s 2025 Chocolate Fantasia Brings Great Taste To A Great Cause
A deliciously elegant event is returning to Lubbock for 2025: Chocolate Fantasia.
Chocolate Fantasia features live music, food, adult beverages, and of course, plenty of nature's most perfect food: chocolate.
And nothing pairs better with chocolate than wines grown and produced right here in the High Plains. Which will also be available to sample at the event.
The best part? Proceeds benefit the Southwest Parkinson Society. SPS provides resources for people with Parkinson's and their families in our area.
An estimated 52,500 Texans 45 or older are living with Parkinson's disease. One of those Texans is someone I love very dearly. Perhaps you love a person with Parkinson's too.
According to the National Institute on Aging, Parkinson's is, "when nerve cells in the basal ganglia, an area of the brain that controls movement, become impaired and/or die. "
This causes tremors, balance/ coordination problems, difficulty swallowing, and other symptoms. It is a progressive disease and there is no cure.
However, thanks to continued research, new therapies are emerging to help mitigate the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, leading to longer lives and more importantly, a higher quality of life for people affected by this disease.
You can support the fight against Parkinson's by attending Chocolate Fantasia on Saturday, February 8th. It will be held at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion on the campus of Texas Tech.
As always, Chocolate Fantasia will feature a champagne reception, silent auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, samples from wineries, breweries, coffee shops, live music, and culinary competition of intricate chocolate sculptures and delicious chocolate treats.
