With how much school supplies cost, this event is helping raise supplies for others.
"We are proud to be able to put this event together. We have worked with the community for years doing Toys for tot events, Suicide awareness events and many many more events," said Troy Wilson.
This has been a big project they have been working on and his group, Pyrosapiens are a fire performance group, and will be there as well. Also during the event, there will be music, food, drag queens, enology and much more. There will also be giveaways that some luck winners will get.
They will be transforming Prima Vista Event Center into a Skate rink and are asking everyone to dress up in e 60s,70s, and '80s with outfits to bring back great memories and fun.
This year they will collect school supplies and have set up boxes across Lubbock to collect. They are even having a big competition to see who can raise the most. The school supplies will go out to Lubbock ISD and the chosen schools from that to make sure it goes to the most needed.
"Lubbock has a very rich history of talented artists, hard work and dedication to your craft are what it takes to make it in this city. We have built a great network and made some amazing connections," said Wilson.
Prima Vista Event Center is located at 402 N Inler Ave, Lubbock, TX 79416. The event is on August 20th from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m.. Tickets are $10 online and $12 at the door. The Pyrosapiens show starts at 9:30 p.m. and the drag show starts at 10 p.m. You can buy those tickets here.
