Has anyone on your block fallen victim to Lubbock's apparent magnetic connection between cars and homes? It's a thing here, and it's not just a specific spot in town that sees a ton of wrecks. Nearly every single neighborhood in Lubbock has experienced a middle-of-the-night house crash. Some drivers are drunk. Some drivers are distracted. Some drivers are simply asking for it. All of them do major damage. None of it is okay.

The solution?

There's probably a mixture of solutions. Creating more things to do in Lubbock than drink and drive is a good start, and finding a way to make people slow down and pay attention would also help. For now, we're all just left scratching our heads and wondering if cars hit homes at this rate in the rest of Texas. For some reason, it feels like we are getting the brunt of it. When I tell my friends in other parts of Texas about Lubbock's house-crashing phenomenon, they seem pretty shocked.

I don't know what it is about the 806, but we do NOT have great luck in the car vs. vehicle department. Anyway, here's a list of totally reasonable explanations for why cars and houses in Lubbock are so desperate to be together.
