Lubbock Opens New Bigger, Brighter & More Luxe Lululemon

The Lululemon location, now in Kingsgate South (previously in Kingsgate North), has officially opened. According to a Facebook post, the store is bigger, "over 8000 square feet and double the amount of inventory from the previous store,"  and has "a super lux and clean feel to it."

Lululemon began in the late 90s as a yoga wear brand, but has since expanded broadly. The brand now offers "sportswear, lifestyle apparel, shoes, accessories." Think everything from sports bras to men's dress pants, and athletic shoes to hair clips. Lululemon is known as an innovator after having developed moisture-wicking and compression fabrics, which the brand has trademarked.r

The Benefit Of Brick And Mortar

As a person who likes to try on items before investing in clothes, having a huge selection to try on or at least see in-store appeals to me. I know many other consumers feel the same, and I do love to see a correction from an "everything online" model for clothes.

What Lululemon Does Differently Than Other Stores

Lululemon also offers a "Like New" program, which allows customers to trade in used Lululemon items for store credit. The used items are available for sale online. Lululemon also partners with local ambassadors (like athletes, fitness instructors, etc.) to host events, provide feedback on activewear, and promote the brand.

Congrats to the local folks who made this move possible, proving once again that real-life retail is alive and well in Lubbock.
