Lubbock Police Identify Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting
Lubbock police are investigating an early morning officer-involved shooting in which one person was killed and the suspect taken into custody.
Initial reports from the neighborhood near the 3600 block of 96th Street suggest that the call to police came after residents saw four people breaking into cars.
The officer located a suspect after arriving on scene and attempted to detain a suspect when the suspect turned and fired shots at them. The officer was not struck and returned fire, hitting the suspect who died at the scene.
30-year-old Drew Nichols Wallace-Flores has been identified as the subject who shot at Lubbock Police during the incident. Wallace-Flores was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Circumstances around the incident are still under investigation by the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit.
