Lubbock’s Defunct Louie Louie’s Is Still Here in Spirit (And YouTube)
While Lubbock's location of Louie Louie's (formerly at 1703 Texas Ave.) may be gone for good, Louie Louie's is still slinging drinks and slinging songs in Dallas.
The initial closure announcement in Lubbock was made back in May on their Facebook page:
We are sad to announce that after almost 12 years, Louie Louie's is closing the doors on our Lubbock location. We've enjoyed singing and laughing with you, and appreciate the wonderful efforts of our staff through the years. Our Dallas location will continue going strong and we hope to see some familiar faces from West Texas from time to time.
However, Louie Louie's misses us and wants to still share the music with us, even if we have to slip our drinks at home. Lucky for me, my home bartender pours really heavy. Okay, it's me...but you have to love yourself first, right?
Here's Louie Louie's recent update on a new venture at their Dallas spot:
We miss our Lubbock family! We just wanted to give a little update on what we’ve been up to! We started a live music series at our club in our Dallas location. It’s called Boarded Up Music and we’re quite proud of it. Check it out if you love music!
You can check out Boarded Up Music on Youtube, and they already have several beautiful, professionally shot and recorded videos up. I especially love the silky vocals of Taylor Pace with his funky/jazzy backup band. Enjoy.
