Lubbock’s The Brand Hosting Huge Mom’s Day Tattoo Special This Friday

You've probably heard of tattoo special holidays, like Friday the 13th, in Lubbock. It's a tradition among some shops to offer incredible deals on specific pre-drawn flash tattoos on that unlucky day. I've even seen shops do hole-in-the-wall specials where particularly brave folks can get a tattoo for a hell of a deal, but can't see the tattoo beforehand. I'd be afraid I'd get a tattoo of a doody or something.

Lubbock's The Brand Tattoo Studio will be doing something I've never seen before: a Mom's Day special. And it makes perfect sense. "Mom" tattoos have been a tattoo trope since the beginning of modern electric tattooing.

The event will be held at 2859 34th Street this Friday, May 14th starting at 1 p.m. and cutting off at 10 p.m. Patrons can choose off of pre-drawn Mom's Day-themed flash sheets and get a tattoo for, get this, $25. That is outrageously inexpensive, as most shops have a minimum of $50 for any tattoo.

This will be a well-attended event so be patient, be kind and tip your artist. Even if you're paying full retail for a tattoo, you should tip. If you're getting a major hookup, you absolutely should tip. Consider it an easy way to garner good karma.
