Mai Thai Celebrates 1 Year in Lubbock With Brick-and-Mortar Grand Opening
About a year ago, the Lubbock food industry was blessed with a new food truck that everyone came to know and love: MAI THAI Kitchen. It was started by the Sisomphou Family and served up great Thai food. Now, one year later, after lots of days of selling out, they're set to open their first brick-and-mortar out in Idalou on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022.
This week they're even running specials every day to celebrate their anniversary and have everyone out. Each day they will be posting about it on Facebook, so you will have to go to their page to see the specials.
Their brick-and-mortar will be located at GitFit Zone in Idalou as a drive-thru restaurant. They're turning this location at 301 W 1st Street into a Mai Thai express and it will only offer take-out and drive-thru. Orders will be placed over the phone or at the window. They're working on ordering online as well, but that option isn't available yet.
The best part, they're even expanding their menu from the food truck to have more options to chose from and try. Hours of operation will start off Tuesday-Saturday lunch and dinner.
As for their Lubbock location, it's coming but not ready yet.
The family posted on Facebook to say "thank you to all of our customers that gave us a try and continue to support us. Thank you to our partners over the year that opened up your space for us to park our food truck and those that of you that invited us to participate in your events. Thank you to the huge food truck community for welcoming us and supporting each other. We are looking forward to year 2!"
You can follow them on Facebook for all their updates on their openings and location.
