Man Accused of Repeatedly Sexually Abusing Underage Relatives
On Thursday, October 2nd, 2020, a Lubbock man was arrested and accused of sexually assaulting an underage relative.
KAMC News reports that 41-year-old Jose Angel Reyes was charged specifically with sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child.
It's said that the victim came to police and said that they had been sexually abused by Reyes since they were 14 years old. The victim "could not remember how many times" it happened, but it was said that this had been going on almost every day for four years.
The victim also claimed that another of their relatives had written a post on Facebook also accusing Reyes of sexual abuse.
Since the identities of those involved haven't been released, the Facebook post in question was not able to be found. It's reported, however, that that on the post the relative claimed that beginning when they were around nine or 10 years old, Reyes molested them "at every opportunity" until they were 16 years old.
The second victim has been quoted as saying: "The very last time that he molested me, I was in my grandparents kitchen, and...that was the last time I let myself be vulnerable to him."
Reyes is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling $225,000.
