Lubbock Grand Jury Accuses Man of Taking Underage Boy to Alabama for Sex
A federal grand jury in Lubbock has accused a 55-year-old man of taking an underage boy to Alabama for illegal sexual activity.
Michael Billups of Seminole is accused of taking the boy from Texas to Alabama back in July with the intent to commit what would be classified as second-degree rape under Alabama law.
According to KAMC News, Billups was first investigated by the Lubbock Police Department on October 8th after a woman came to the police department to make a complaint. She said that her son told her that Billups had been sexually assaulting the boy from 2010 until the day of the report.
Billups was arrested on October 28th, 2019 and has been in the Lubbock County Detention Center since then.
