Mouthwatering Photos: Lubbock’s E&J Smokehouse Rebrands Themselves as The Escondido Grill
After four years of operating under the name E&J Smokehouse, this lovely slice of heaven is now known as The Escondido Grill.
Owners Jason and Shawnna Waters decided to change the name in order to convey that they're not just a BBQ joint. The restaurant also specializes in dishes inspired by their passion for West Texas and New Mexico cuisine.
'Escondido' is the Spanish word for 'hidden.' Essentially, The Escondido Grill is the hidden grill at The Spirit Ranch. It's hard to believe that a place this pretty is actually in Lubbock. If it's been a while since you had a nice evening out, this might just be the perfect place to relax with some seriously delicious food. Come summertime and warm weather, Lubbock's Original Patio is a great spot to listen to live music while you dine with your friends.
Chef Zachery Altamirano just happens to be a friend of mine and is the man behind the lovely dishes you see below. He trained under Chef Sarah North, another local favorite, and developed his passion for cooking over the past 16 years.
Here are a couple of tasty treats you'll find when you visit The Escondido Grill in Lubbock.
A Few Mouthwatering Menu Items and Specials
These beautiful photos below of The Spirit Ranch really take me back to my childhood when we would head out to The County Line for dinner with family and friends. The iconic spot that looks nothing like the rest of Lubbock is still just as lovely today.
