A new Lubbock restaurant is shaking things up in the best possible way.

Ground Zero Bar and Grill is doing many things differently than you might expect from a Lubbock eatery, as even their location is innovative and unusual. Ground Zero is located inside Raider Park at 2522 Marsha Sharp Freeway, making it perfect for game day festivities.

Not content to just serve a home game crowd, Ground Zero is making fans cheer over their exciting menu. And this past weekend (April 27-28) Ground Zero won with their first-ever brunch.

The MVP? The Mimosa TOWER. Yes, a tower of mimosa. It's going pretty viral in the LBK Foodies group, because why wouldn't it?

Because I knew inquiring minds would want to know, I gave Ground Zero a call to ask about the tower, and their brunch in general.

The mimosa tower is only available during brunch, which is blessedly BOTH Saturday and Sunday. It pairs perfectly with their brunch menu and their popular "Chicken-Minis" dish which features fried chicken and mini-pancakes. YUM.

The reason for the tower? The owners wanted to bring one of their favorite things about Houston to Lubbock. I love that we get a taste of the big city without having to make a 500+ mile trip. And for many Tech students, a taste of the big city is a taste of home.

Ground Zero has only been open for about 90 days, but they are already making a huge impression on Lubbock. I can't wait to try it, but I'll need to bring a couple of besties to help me climb that tower.

While you're waiting on the next brunch to roll around, you can plan ahead with their brunch menu:
