This sure was an eye-opener.

Remember the old days of the newspaper and/or Thrifty Nickel type classifieds? When they ruled the earth they charged you by the letter, line, or space. In these days with digital, that kind of space really isn't a problem.

I found all this out when I told people a friend was looking for a 2/1 med/large dog. I think in the days of newspaper everyone would know I was looking for a two bedroom, 1 bath that would allow a medium/large dog.

You would not believe the number of people on my feed that had no idea what I was talking about. Taking a cue from me, my daughter also used those abbreviations and no one seemed to know what she was talking about either.

It's obviously a good thing that you can spell right out what you want these days without having to count the words, it just takes a bit for us old schoolers to remember that.
